Let the nations know they are but men

The title is the last line of Ps 9 in which the Sovereign Lord is extolled for his plan to judge the earth in justice reminding humans that we are not really in control and able to do whatever we want to do with impunity.

It was good to spend an evening with Robert and Roberta night before last. They are a super quality couple and will be fruitful in Christ’s service wherever they are and as they transition to Japan.

Last night Stacia and Yukari had some young people over for snacks and a game. I pray they will soon make time for another Bible study. Lord, give them open hearts to receive your love and grace–the grace of the One and Only God. Right now they are what I can Mt Fuji Christians (all roads lead to the top). They need to believe John 14:6 to have a pass to heaven “Jesus is the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except by him.”

The reason I like Asian Access is it is a global mission where its members work in equal partnership with nationals in every country we work. God gives special grace to such entities because it manifest Christ-centered unity and mutual respect that honors Him. As a result God is rapidly expanding the influence of Asian Access in spite of our relatve few members. In addition He is expanding our numbers but will always keep us relatively small, I believe, because like in Gideon’s days a small army points to Him the Commander-in-Chief.

I’m listening to Handel’s Messiah while I type and am about to fall off my chair sometimes in worship of the King of Kings. Now I must get back to the assignment He gave me to write a book about how to multiply disciples like he taught us to in the parable of the sower. This book will be translated into Japanese and published in both English and Japanese as He provides–and I firmly believe He has a plan to do that in the near future! Hallelujah!

  1. I liked your comment about us not really being in control. I recently heard the following comment, “If you want to make God laugh, make plans.”

  2. It’s true in a sense. We are but vapors. But we are immortal until we each have accomplished our purpose in this generation.
