Surprises, Surprises

God has been surprising us a lot lately. First, I (Mike) was asked to accompany a pastor friend to Cairo, Egypt to teach in a seminary there for 2 weeks in January. Then before we could plan much, muslim extremists started bombing Christians in Egypt. The US State dept issued a travel advisory against traveling to Egypt and it was decided that we would not go to Egypt at this time. Plans are already being formulated to go in August 2011 or Jan-Feb 2012. Please pray God will open the door when all is ready.

Next, Richard and Susan, some very dear friends gave us a 3 night, 4 day getaway to Sequoia Nat’l Park! Getting to Wuksachi Lodge was challenging with the freeway being closed, us re-routed, and eventually spending 17 hours driving to our getaway. The snow was unseasonably high and so we had many adventures putting on and driving on chains for the first time, and cross-country skiing for the first time in 25 years (both of us).

Thank you, Rich and Susan, for the wonderful getaway!

It was awesome to see the Giant Sequoias in their winter finery. Our God’s artistry is sometimes breathtaking in such settings.

Next we have had some exciting communications from Asian Access (A2) leadership and anticipate some big decisions regarding our next ministry assignments in the next few days. Pray God makes his will clear to all including us, please!

Thank you so much for praying for us! God bless you as you represent the King of Kings in your context.

–Mike
