God Can Do Anything!

Living in modern day Sodom and Gomorrah (aka Los Angeles) is challenging and stirs me up most days. Sometimes I’m tempted to paint a signboard with the words “Turn or Burn-Repent!” However I know that is not the best way to reach people with the salvation they so desperately need. As I repeatedly read through the Bible, I am struck both with the mercy and tenderness, as well as the severity and uncompromising holiness of our God, the One and Only. I believe if we could remove the manmade stops to the promulgation of the gospel it would literally flower explosively in our world. I believe man’s control in the Church is a bigger problem than persecution which purifies the Church and catalyzes growth. Right now I’m reading The Radical Cross by A.W. Tozer and I’m so preaching the same message–albeit not as well. We need to learn again what it means to die to self and live for Christ–radically! That kind of transformation will be irresistible to many still caught in the deceitfulness of habitual sin. The Church needs to submit to the Holy Spirit of God once again and become accustomed to His unbridled love and power for us. Here’s a picture I enjoyed that captures a little glimpse of the impossible grace God longs to shower on us if we will just get out of the way.
