OT Covenant vs NT Covenant

Was reading about Abram and Sarai today when their names got changed to Abraham and Sarah. “Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Obedience born of faith was important then “My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant” (Gen. 17:13b-14). In the NT Jesus says this about the covenant, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15). “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him” (John 14:21). And finally, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching” (John 14:23-24). So obedience is the proper grateful response to the blessings of God’s covenantal love in both testaments. There are many sitting in pews that need to heed this.
