God is doing something here

God’s artistry is all around us. The environment has much that is beautiful. They tell me the snorkeling is fantastic and the hiking is very cool. Play with an orangutan?! I doubt I will have any time for any of this–this time. If I can just cajole my love to join me next time for some vacation…..

The seminary exists and mildly flourishes even without outside support. I pray God will continue to provide amazingly for this group that is doing a strategic work of equipping cross-cultural workers for expansion of the Kingdom in Asia.

Yesterday, Lipsiong took me to Glory Christian Centre. Pastor William is a former Anglican priest who finally decided in 1994 the politics and unbalanced theology was no longer for him. He started planting and this is the result nearly 20 years later.

Most of the other churches in town–traditional churches with a theology that only embraces “rightly dividing the Word of truth” as far as they can accept, but no power to rep Christ correctly in this culture—are small and struggling but the Glory group are vibrant, alive, joyful, and growing–they just moved into their new building that seats more than 2000 and it was nearly full already! God is showing what he prefers by his favor. We are talking about exchanging book manuscripts–his third and my first. Pastor William’s influence is growing as he walks step by step with Jesus. He just got back from a leader development trip to Jakarta. The Kingdom is not only about words but is about power (1 Cor 1:17-18; 2:4-5; 4:20; 5:4). May the Lord watch over his flock here and over all who humbly follow Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit wherever he has placed us!!
