God’s Unchanging Agenda 5 of 32

I am constantly amazed at the difference in attitude the “entitlement” culture has engendered in many of the younger generation. So many expect their parents to foot the bill for their entrepreneurial, playboy lifestyles while they dream of making it big in a business they dream of, create, and then launch. Many attempt it, few succeed. Not all the lessons of the previous generation are obsolete. Hard work and paying dues still provide huge dividends in their time in many cases.

5) SCRIPTURE Gen. 4:1-10) Cain and Abel—These two brothers–the first two humans born the now normal human way–had different attitudes with different destinies resulting (Gen. 4:7; Matt. 16:23; Php. 2:21).

REFLECT What do you think “sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it” means (cf. Gen. 4:7; Gal. 5:22-26)? Could it mean that evil sometimes has a malevolent personality behind it? Or perhaps the inner passion raised by many temptations seems personally directed for destruction sometimes.

REFLECT Who had the last word and better sacrifice (cf. Heb. 11:4)?
